Kington Camp

Purple Heart example

Purple Hearts were issued by the American Government to injured soldiers. The issue of a medal was decided on the advice of the Hospitals and medics who treated the wounded soldiers. The 107th and 122nd US Army General Hospitals at Kington Camp thus produced lists of recommendations for medals which were sent back to the States. These lists still exist in the military archives of NARA in the USA - we can use them to gather the names of soldiers who were treated at the hospitals between 1944 and 1945.
