Lady Pamela Wakeman - Grandaughter of Samuel Romilly and niece of Mrs Romilly remembers visiting the cottage during the war. "I do remember going to Huntington Park to have lunch with my aunt, soon after Dunkirk. The house and grounds were filled with soldiers, recovering and re-grouping after their ordeal. I remember the little wooden chimney armoured cars they were using for training, so much had been left in France. I think Mr. Arthur Giddings, my granfather's head gardener, also lived in a cottage by the kitchen gardens, got on well with the troops and supplied them with fruit and vegetables." Lady Pamela Wakeman (letter to Mr Higginbotham March 1st 1981)
